Gensler’s work model hinges on co-leadership at all levels of its vast leadership structure. This means that each of the firm’s 53 offices is co-led, and the firm at large is led by co-CEOs. In October, the office announced a shift in its leadership naming long-term Gensler co-CEOs Andy Cohen and Diane Hoskins as global co-chairs and promoting Jordan Goldstein and Julia Simet to the level of co-CEOs. But now again the global firm has announced a few personnel changes: Elizabeth Brink will instead join Goldstein in the role of co-CEO while Simet assumes a newly created position: global talent officer.

The two co-CEOs will oversee the operations of the firm more largely, while still leading the practice in their respective offices. Continuing this collaborative leadership model, Washington, D.C.–based Goldstein remains co-managing principal of the firm’s southeast region in addition to the co-CEO role, just as the newly-appointed Brink will stay on in her role as co-managing principal of the firm’s southwest region. Brink “will partner with Gensler’s clients and team members to make a meaningful positive impact on communities around the world,” Gensler told AN.  Brink has worked at Gensler for 20 years and proved herself as a workplace strategy expert.

Simet will step away from her role as co-CEO and in addition to supporting the firm’s business and work in Europe she will serve as Gensler’s first global talent officer. Through this new position Simet will “focus on growing and empowering the firm’s talent pipeline,” the firm said. Gensler said the role will allow Simet to pursue her interest in expanding the talent pool at the firm.
