The Façade Tectonics Institute will be holding its 2024 World Congress at the University of Utah October 9 and 10, 2024. The event will highlight the latest in facade research and development from authors around the world. This peer-reviewed paper conference addresses a wide range of topics, including materials, façade technology, embodied carbon, energy performance of facade systems, and modeling.
The keynote speakers for the 2024 Congress are Chris O’Hara from StudioNYL in Boulder, Colorado, and Geoffrey Thün, Professor of Architecture at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. O’Hara is known for his collaborative approach with design teams, and has applied this philosophy in his own office as well as with leading architects throughout the United States. Thün is engaged in research ranging from high-performance buildings to responsive and kinetic building envelopes.
The exhibit area will give attendees an opportunity to meet with companies offering a variety of services that include glass and glazing, attachment systems, design tools, and facade consulting services.
Besides the paper sessions, attendees will have an opportunity to visit a facade fabrication factory, sponsored by Pohl, and tour the downtown area, with a tour leader from the Salt Lake City office of Morrison Hershfield.
