A new book Architect d.b.a. focuses on the various roles architects assume in a world that demands specialization. The book begins by assuming that architecture is a profession and discourse based on a broad multidisciplinary foundation. It asks forty different architects and people associated with the field (including this journalist) to comment on the roles they assume under the rubric of ‘architect.’ The book explores each of these roles independently and then together in a concluding essay by Nader Tehrani as a way of defining the inclusionary shape of the profession today.
This Thursday, December 15th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm there will be a launch of this new book at the Center for Architecture on LaGuardia Place.
