Bard College is seeking applicants for the position of Director of a newly formed undergraduate Architectural Studies Program, to begin July 1, 2019. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape a new program in the context of Bard’s progressive, arts-oriented undergraduate curriculum. The ideal candidate will have both a clear pedagogical vision and the organizational and administrative skills needed for shaping a new program.
Primary teaching areas will be architectural design, but candidates should have the ability and experience to teach in at least one other area: Urbanism, Landscape and Environment; Computation/Digital Design and Fabrication; Drawing and Representation; Architectural History and Theory.
Candidates should hold a professional degree in Architecture (Master of Architecture preferred) and have teaching experience at the undergraduate level. The position is a full-time tenure-line appointment. Bard will consider joint applications from working design partnerships with an interest in co-directing the program.
