Thom Browne Reflecting on Uniformity

March 17, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

$15

Join us for a conversation with Thom Browne, 2012 National Design Award winner for fashion design, and Matilda McQuaid, Deputy Curatorial Director and Head of Textiles for Cooper Hewitt. Browne is guest curator of the forthcoming Thom Browne Selects, which will feature mirrors, frames, and reflective wallcovering chosen by the designer from the museum’s permanent collection, as well as Browne’s own possessions. The exhibition addresses and draws on the tensions between individuality and uniformity, which are recurrent themes in Browne’s work and will also be the subject of the evening’s discussion. Thom Browne Selects opens March 4, 2016.
