Injecting bold colors around timeless neutrals for longevity

In a recent survey, designers ranked color as one of their top three design trends. In kitchens, neutrals like white and gray were the top responses for countertops and sinks to ensure an interior design that will never grow old.

Smart neutrals offer an updated aesthetic, but not one that will be outdated within five years. Neutral colors for fixed appliances, like sinks, work with changing accents, like bold paints.

BLANCO’S IKON® Apron Front Sinks offers eight on-trend neutral colors in 27”, 30” and 33” Single Bowl options to its latest 33” 1-3/4 with Low Divide. These sinks are crafted with the brand’s patented SILGRANIT® material that is scratch resistant with an easy to clean, repellent nonporous surface.

“In the kitchen, we’re dealing with very long-lasting goods,” says Brigitte Ziemann, head of design at BLANCO. “It’s important that our products have this longevity, this visual validity, so that they can survive a time span of 15 to 20 years. That’s not the same as jeans or a cool purse. If I don’t like it, then I buy myself a new one. But when it comes to such firmly installed things like a kitchen interior, you don’t just throw it away.”
