Who is Eligible?
All designers and creative professionals, art and design students, educators, and business and/or organizations of design throughout the world are encouraged to enter. Entrants need not be members of AIGA.
All design work entered in the competition should communicate the importance of social responsibility or sustainability for our planet. We are looking for excellence in design solutions that actively engage in enriching our lives. This could be, for example, raising awareness about a cause or condition, celebrating an arts institution or event, or even harnessing innovations in production and materials that are better for our environment.
What Work is Eligible?
Work produced or published between August 1, 2009 and June 15, 2011.
Any of the following types of design work are eligible:
Brand Identity
Publication Design
Package Design
Self-promotion
Print Collateral
Advertising
Environmental Design
Product Design
Multimedia
Student Work
Are other design disciplines allowed?
Yes. Any design work that does not fit into the above media categories that deserves recognition may be entered. This may include, but is not limited to:
Industrial Design
Architecture
Interior Design
Permaculture
Urban Planning
What are the competition categories?
Environmental Sustainability Awards
Execution of an environmentally sustainable design for a business or organization whose mission is or is not sustainability.
1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards given in each of the following categories:
Individual/Agency
Student
For-Profit Corporation
Non-Profit Organization
Social Responsibility Awards
Execution of a design for a business or organization whose mission is social responsibility.

What is the criteria?
Printed work must be published in excess of 250 impressions with the exception of invitations/announcements and posters, which must be published in excess of 50.
All work by professionals must have been published, aired or produced to be eligible. Student work is not required to be published or have a minimum number of impressions.
Can I enter the same piece in more than one category?
Yes. A design may be submitted in multiple categories. A separate entry form and fee is required for each category you submit a piece.
How Do I Submit Work?
All entries must be initiated and paid for online between June15, 2011 and July 22, 2011. Mailed entries will not be accepted,however, winning entries will be requested to be mailed for display at the AIGA (Re)designAwards Gala event. Click here to submit your work.
What does it cost to enter?
AIGA members: $45 per single entry/$65 per series
Non-members: $60 per single entry/$85 per series
Student AIGA members: $30/$50 per series
Student non-members: $45/$65 per series
Who are the judges?
The jury for the AIGA (Re)designAwards is composed of five highly recognized design experts who have made significant contributions to the world of environmental sustainability and social responsibility
through their business practices.
How will I find out if my work wins?
Notification letters will be sent by the end of August. The list of the jury’s selections will be posted on the AIGA (Re)designAwards website by the beginning of September.

Online recognition of winning work on the AIGA(Re)designAwards website for two years
Verbal and visual recognition of winning work at the AIGA (Re)designAwards Gala event on October 27, 2011
Recognition of winning work on social media channels including but not limited to Facebook and Twitter
An actual award…it’s a surprise!
Do I lose the copyright on my work? Rights and Permissions
You keep all copyright permissions on your work, however, winning entrants grant AIGA (Re)designAwards the right to use accepted work for reproduction in competition-related publications; on its website; in any exhibition of the competitions’ selections; and for educational and AIGA-related promotional purposes.
